Flavia Penetta and Fabio fognini got hitched off to each other in Ostuni, Italy on 11 June 2016. The duo had been dating each other since early 2014, before getting engaged earlier this year. Their love story is akin to the romantic movies we all love to watch. Both of them were very close friends first and one fine day their friendship blossomed into love.
After a tumultuous relationship with Carlos Moya, she found a second chance in love with Fabio. “I have to thank him for what he did, because maybe my life would have been completely different! At this point, after so many years I have to say thank you to Carlos for everything because if all these things didn’t happen, I’d never be here, and never be a champion of a Grand Slam,” she says. It is wonderful to see them so happy with each other.
Pennetta won her maiden grand slam, the 2015 US Open and announced the retirement right after lifting her trophy and the current world no. 34 has record of 9-11 win loss in 2016.
She wore a beautiful elegant wedding gown and he wore a well-tailored suit. They both looked extremely happy and posed for the shutterbugs in style. They had a traditional church wedding and the ceremony was beautiful. Among the special wedding guests there were Djokovic’s coach Boris Becker, the compatriots Sara Errani, Francesca Schiavone and Roberta Vinci, and Flavia’s former doubles partner Gisela Dulko.
We wish Mr. and Mrs. Fognini a happy married life and a lifetime of togetherness and happiness. May their love for each other grow stronger by each passing day and stay forever. Cheers!
